Last week Dane had not one, but two visits to the apple orchard. The first was with our wonderful Lifelink playgroup. Everyone had a great time together but for Dane and Sophia, the far and away favorite was the pony ride. Mind you, Steve made me swear never to put Dane on a pony ride because "that's for town kids." But his little face lit up as soon as he saw the ponies. He was beyond excited so how could I refuse him? As soon as his pony started to move he began to laugh hysterically and loudly. Four dollars well spent.
The second trip was with our wonderful Korean exchange student, Jane. I will introduce her better in another post. She is very sweet, a lot of fun, and Dane is definitely bonding with her. He calls her, "Noona," which is Korean for older sister to a boy. The most traditional, mid western experience I could think to give her in September was the apple orchard. Jane had only seen corn fields and red barns in the movies so, needless to say, she was easy to please with the car ride alone! The weather was perfect for enjoying all of the sights together. She was sweet enough to let Dane drag her around the maze and he was gentleman enough to help her carry her basket of goodies around the store. I felt it was my duty to make sure she returned to her dorm room with plenty of apple cider donuts and cheese curds.

I love all the photos with Dane and the animals! Can he please come show Spencer how it's done?! (Specifically that it's ok to pet goats?)
