Walking with Daddy and Grandpa

Walking with Daddy and Grandpa

It's been a fun-filled weekend for the Miller Family...
We spent yesterday with our awesome friends from Lifelink at their Annual Cultural Event. The menu was dishes from all of our children's birth countries, there were speakers from China, Russia, and South Korea as well as a photographer (Ross from our wedding :) who got a great group shot of all the kids, something we weren't sure anyone could pull off successfully! lol Plus, he got a couple of really nice family pics of the three of us - we definitely need more of those. The only regret I have is that we didn't get all a group shot of our South Korean gang. The boys are all growing and changing so fast!
It was a very sweet moment when Dane first saw Euna, the South Korean Ambassador, dressed in her wedding hanbok (so beautiful btw) he ran right up to her and threw his arms around her neck. She was a little surprised but I wasn't - he knows Korean when he sees it :) She did a wonderful job teaching our group lot's of things about culture and language. I was a very proud mom when she sang a couple of children's songs and Dane followed along pretty well with the actions. We also made new friends with Andrea and Corey, a great couple who are close to getting their referral. It brought back a lot of memories to that time right before we were matched with our little Won Seok - the anticipation, the nerves, the wondering, etc. I would post pictures for you but between chasing Dane and visiting with everyone I forgot to even get my camera out.
After Sunday School and church this morning, mother and son needed some rest time. Meanwhile, Daddy got a little fence around the pond so there is some sort of barrier between our fearless son and the pond (see last week's post). He also got cement poured around legs of the swing set so it is anchored and safe for several kids to play at once. We also got a surprise visit from Grandma and Grandpa Miller. It's so nice to have them home from Florida so we can see them more often!
