Motorcycles were a passion of Steve's long before we met. It is still a big part of our little family's spring/summer schedule. In the last year or so, Steve has "down-shifted" from racing for points to track days with private clubs. Steve's days at the track have gone from hanging with his wild friends to more of a family affair. To watch Steve at the track is to see a whole other side of his personality. He is normally very reserved and quiet but in this atmosphere, he is outgoing and friends with everyone. He's an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to make, model, parts and repairs. I'm always very proud when other riders seek him out for advice and help.
Dane loves watching Da-da at the track and helping in the pits. He has made friends with everyone there from other riders to the woman who checks us in at the front gate. He seems to know it's a "guy" zone and prefers Dad to Mom when we're there.
Thank you to everyone who has been asking about Steve's racing. Unless you know the ins and outs of European sportbikes, which I still don't, I think it's easier explained when you see it:
