Male Bonding

Nothing puts a smile on my face like the way Dane obsessively mimics Steve in every way. It's so sweet to observe Dane study his father and then mimic his gestures or try to repeat whatever his dad says. I am fascinated with how instinctively he wants to learn how to be "male" and is drawn to typical "guy" interests. It's also wonderful to watch how sweet and patient Steve is as he talks to Dane and shows him how to help with projects. For my non-emotional/non-verbal husband, there is no better way to bond with his son than doing yard work or tinkering in the barn. I am so thankful this part of their relationship has come about so naturally.

BTW, please ignore Steve's black socks. He came home from work, changed clothes (mostly) and jumped on the mower as fast as he could. When you live in the country, no one can see you to make fun of what you're wearing to mow the lawn. Steve considers this a huge benefit of where we live. lol
